Sie \u00fcberspannt den Canale Grande und ist die \u00e4lteste und ber\u00fchmteste Br\u00fccke Venedigs, deren elegantes Design sie zu einem architektonischen Symbol der Stadt gemacht hat.<\/p>\n<p>Der Bau der Rialto-Br\u00fccke geht auf das sp\u00e4te 16. Jahrhundert zur\u00fcck. Vor ihrer Fertigstellung im Jahr 1591 konnte man den Canale Grande nur mit dem Boot \u00fcberqueren. Mit der zunehmenden Bedeutung Venedigs als Handels- und Kulturzentrum wurde der Bedarf an einer festen Br\u00fccke immer deutlicher.<\/p>\n<p>Die von Antonio da Ponte entworfene Rialtobr\u00fccke ist ein gro\u00dfartiges Beispiel f\u00fcr die Architektur der Renaissance. Sie besteht aus einem einzigen Marmorbogen, der sich hoch \u00fcber dem Kanal erhebt und von zwei Reihen von Gesch\u00e4ften flankiert wird. In diesen L\u00e4den werden traditionell verschiedene Waren wie Schmuck, Souvenirs und venezianische Glaswaren verkauft.<\/p>\n<p>Die Rialto-Br\u00fccke dient nicht nur als praktischer \u00dcbergang, sondern bietet auch einen atemberaubenden Blick auf den Canal Grande und das gesch\u00e4ftige Treiben in Venedig. M\u00e4rz 421 eingeweiht, aber Untersuchungen haben ergeben, dass sie viel sp\u00e4ter gebaut wurde. In einer Urkunde aus dem Jahr 1097 wird der Ort erw\u00e4hnt, allerdings ohne die Kirche, und die erste zuverl\u00e4ssige Information stammt aus dem Jahr 1152. Die Uhr, die 1410 an die Kirche angebaut wurde, wurde 1749 restauriert, und die gesamte Fassade wurde 1958 restauriert. Der heutige Glockengiebel wurde ebenfalls 1749 errichtet. Unter den <em>Glocken<\/em> befindet sich ein gotisches <em>Relief der Jungfrau<\/em> mit Kind aus dem fr\u00fchen 16.
